iPhone 3G is of no excuse. It has been struggling along to open the apps and check the mails. It can’t even handle the new software including the new OS. Here are some tips and measures you can take up to speed up your iPhone 3G.
- Don’t use the whole memory space of your phone. Leave at least 500MB free space. You can do this by deleting the music and video files that you never listen or watch
- Delete apps that you don’t use or use very rarely. Try to remove the free apps as you can download them at any moment if required
- Disable the spotlight search options on your phone. Here you can search for messages, phone numbers of your contacts, apps etc. Disabling it reduces the overall workload of the system
- Perform a hard reset on your iPhone 3G to speed up the device. Do it twice for good results. To perform hard reset on your device you need to press the power button and home button at the same time and hold it on for 10 seconds. Ignore the power off-slider that appears during the process and continue holding till you see the apple symbol
- Restore the iPhone Factory settings. Before restoring perform backup which allows you to restore everything, if something goes wrong
- To free up some RAM, delete all the icon shadows and wallpaper gradients which in turn speeds up your device
- Restart your phone every alternate day or when you find the device is getting slower
- Delete your text messages which you have already read. Remove the language packs and launch daemons that are useless. Removing these may provide your device with free space and speed up the device
- Clear your multitasking tray and it gives you almost 300 MB space and increase the speed of your device
- Use hacks that gives you access to tools, settings and functionalities in more efficient manner. This will save up the time and increase the speed of the device
