8 Patients might lose eye sight permanently at Kota clinic

Udupi: 8 out of 38 patients who under went eye surgery at Kota Charmakki Narayan Shetty Lions Eye clinic are facing the fear of losing their eye sight permanently. The patients under went treatment at the clinic on August 1st and 2nd.

All the 8 patients are admitted to Manipal KMC Hospital for further treatment. 1 patient was dead from heart attack while under going the surgery. The rest are recovering but their chances of losing the eye sight permanently are more according to Udupi District Health Officer Dr.Ramachandra Bairy. He was reporting to a daily news paper today.

This is not by the mistake of the medical officers at the clinic. This is due to the alergy from the solution used during the sergery he said. The cause of heavy rainfall in the district cannot be turned down behind the allergy he said. Narasimha Shetty from Saligrama died of Heart attack. He was suffering from High Blood Pressure. -VB-
