Robbers attempt to rob Mangala Jewellers in Udupi

Udupi : Almost akin to a film shooting sequence, robbers assaulting the watchman  in the morning in Mangala Jewellers, near City Bus Stand had tried to rob the jewellery shop.  By 1.45 noon 2 people wrapping the face of watchman Manjappa assaulted him with iron rods and tried unsuccessfully to rob the jewellery shop. They broke the shutter beside the shop, tried to enter the shop, but by then hearing the jewellery siren going loud, the robbers fled the scene getting alarmed.

The thus assaulted watchman Manjappa  is under going medical treatment in Gandhi Hospital in the town.  The locals getting awake by the siren, infored the matter to the Police. Police along with finger prints experts visiting the shop examined the things in the shop.  Those attempting to burgle out the shop they were 5 of them in number, and they were found allegedly speaking Hindi.  No things from the Jewellery shop were robbed.

A case has been registered in the Udupi Town Police Station. - UW
