Kemmannu/Hoode: Better roads are always safe for
pedestrians as well as for vehicular traffic. To improve connectivity
between Udupi district headquarters and Hude Bengre, the government is
laying stress on widening and repair of roads at Hude and Kamblathota
where the road is very narrow and Even the drivers with local knowledge
can be caught out during heavy downpours, as road surface is still
susceptible to standing water. This creates a potential aquaplaning
hazard as well as significantly reducing visibility. As per
District-in-charge Minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary, The Government had
released Rs. 5.23 crore for construction of roads under the Chief
Minister’s Rural Road Development Scheme. About Rs. 6.15 crore had been
released for the construction of rural roads under the Third Finance
Commission scheme.
Where there is a will there is a way. Taking advantage of the various
government schemes for rural road development, The Taluk Panchayat
representative from hoode Mr TM Rahamtulla has started the work of
widening and excavating the silt from the roadside trench and culverts.
People of Hoode were showering all the praise to their young
representative for this move and they stood by him to witness and to
