Udupi: Nitish Kumar (20), a student of BBM at
Upendra Pai Memorial College here, is said to have gone missing since
Thursday, Sep 6, along with a huge sum of money which he had collected
from home to be handed to his father.
He is the son of Narayan Lal, owner of Mahalakshmi Textiles in Badagupet. Lal had asked his son, who had spent his whole day in the shop on Thursday, to bring an amount of Rs 2.50 lakh from home, for an urgent payment.
Accordingly, Nitish went to their home in Harsh Vardhan apartments near the Sharada Kalyan Mantap in Kunjibettu, collected the amount and set out towards shop around 4-30 pm. However, he neither reached the shop, nor returned home.
His father has filed a complaint in the town police station. Only an investigation would establish if he has disappeared with the cash or if it was a case of kidnap. -Mn-
