Mangalore, Oct 16, 2012 :
Four people died when a truck laden with gas cylinders dashed into a
Tata Sumo at Thenka Yermal in Padubidri on Oct 15, Monday. While three
people died on the spot, the fourth died in hospital.
The deceased are Shaji (43), Shantha, Vijayan, and Jayanthi N. S. of Ernakulum in Kerala. They were going to Kollur from Kerala on their Tata Sumo.
Shaji’s wife Lalitha (40), his daughter Arunina (14), Shanta’s son Nandu (11), Jayanthi’s son Kannan (12), and Babu (45) sustained injuries. They are currently taking treatment at hospitals in Manipal and Mangalore.
The group was going to Shri Mookambika Temple to celebrate Navarathri, and the truck was on its way to Mangalore from Udupi.
The Padubidri police have registered a case. - MT
