Mumbai: India’s legendary singer
Asha Bhosle’s daughter and former journalist Varsha Bhosle has
committed suicide in Mumbai, a report said on Monday.
The report said that Varsha commited
suicide at her Prabhu Kunj residence in Mumbai, adding that Varsha was
51 and shot her-self in the head.
In 2008, she had attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills but had been rushed to hospital and subsequently saved.
A report quoting sources close to the family revealed that Varsha was unhappy due to a property dispute within the family.
The second of Asha’s three children,
Varsha was a freelance writer and columnist, known for her fiery right
wing writing for a web portal and several publications.
She was married to and divorced from freelance sports writer Hemant Kenkre and reportedly had a history of depression.- TNT
