: Ten fishermen survived a fishing boat accident, which took place on
August 26, Sunday, at Alive Bagilu where the Nethravathi-Gurpur River
joins the sea.
Reportedly, large waves hit the fishing
boat Harbour Sea, which belongs to Jagadish Bolur of Yojak (India)
Private Limited, after which it lost control. Since the river was not
that deep in that area, the 10 fishermen on board could swim to safety.
All the 10 survivors are from Tamil Nadu.
Fishing boat accidents have become common at Alive Bagilu. The local fishermen issued a deadline of one week to concerned authorities to take the required action, failing which they have warned that they will launch an intense protest.
