Coal scam has blackened hands of Congress, BJP: Anna Hazare

Ralegan Siddhi (Maharashtra), Aug 27 (ANI): Veteran anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare, on Sunday, said the coal scam has blackened the hands of the ruling Congress party and country’s main opposition, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Interacting with reporters here, Hazare said none of the present political parties can give a bright future to the country.
“The ruling and the opposition parties have blackened their hands in coal scam. BJP, who is raising its voice, is also involved and Congressis also involved. All the corrupt people are pointing fingers at each other. The public will have to think that neither the ruling nor the opposition party will make the future of the country. If we want abright future then honest people should be voted to the Parliament,” Hazare said.
The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) had recently reported that the government had allocated coal blocks, power projects and land for Delhi’s flagship airport at a fraction of market prices, causing a political furore across the country.
Earlier in the day, key Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal organised mass protests across New Delhi, against the alleged Coal scam.
Kejriwal led protest march to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), while IAC activists, braving baton charge, tear gas and water cannon assault protested outside the parliament, along with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s and BJP president Nitin Gadkari’s residences.
Kejriwal, who was arrested and released by Delhi Police twice during the day, called off the protest in the evening, claiming that the objective of the “movement” had been accomplished. (ANI). - UW
