Mangalore, Aug 4, 2012 :
The minority unit of the Karnataka State BJP has criticized St.
Aloysius College and St. Agnes College for supporting the all-college
bundh after the attack on students at Morning Mist Home Stay.
According to a press release issued by Franklin Monteiro, vice president of the minority unit of the Karnataka State BJP, the colleges did not protest against any atrocity on women across the length and breadth of the country. The release stated that the colleges did not protest against Bangladeshi migrants raping Indian women, the molestation of a Hindu girl in Assam, the killing of Sudhindra and his friend by PFI activists in Mysore, the security screening of George Fernandes, former union defense minister, and Abdul Kalam, former president of India, by the US government, and the suicide of two college students.
The release further urged the colleges not to incite students against Hindu outfits as it mars their image as reputable institutions. It also pointed out that the colleges had taken action against students who took part in Anna Hazare’s struggle against corruption.
In his release, Mr. Monteiro also warned the colleges that their actions might lead to a repeat of the incidents of 2008. - MT
