Kundapura : The gutsy wind that blew on

it caused major damage to houses, and 2 people in Hemmadi and Gangolli
here.

Bhandary, Nagappa Bhandari’s house is damaged by the crashing of the
tree. Those electric poles are uprooted. Nagappa Bhandari’s wife Sadhu
Bhandarthi and her son in law Manjunath were injured when tiles of the
roof crashed on them. Their hands, shoulders and head getting injured,
Sadhu Bhandarthi has been admitted to Sri Devi Clinic in Hemmadi.
An uprooted tree crashed on Galle Mane
Govind Poojary’s house and it is completely damaged. Sukranna’s house
area is affected and agricultural crop has been damaged. Guddi Mane
Nagesh Devadiga, Halli Mane Achchutha Devadiga, Ananda Devadiga, Krishna
Bhandary, Ananda Pujari’s houses also damaged by the landing of up
rooted trees. So also the banana plants and coconut trees are uprooted.

Pai’s roof sheets over the terrace have been blown off, and about Rs.
50,000 damage has been estimated. Gopala Naik’s compound is damaged when
tree crashed over the compound, 20 acreca trees, 4-5 coconut trees have
crashed. The ceiling belonging to the welding shop owner Vasantha
Achari has been blown off.
The roof
of Govt. School being broken and tiles being blown off the loss is
estimated to lacs. At Hemmaji in the morning the electricity being cut
off, the cleaning work is in progress. The loss is estimated to be 75
lacs.
