“The film was not cleared due to its adult content,” said Daniela
Yordanova, of Empire International Gulf, the film’s distributor. The
film will be released in Oman and Bahrain.
Producer Mahesh Bhatt expressed disappointment on Friday but said he
was willing to re-submit another version of the film and remove the
objectionable portions.
“I have just been told from sources that they are objecting to the
adult content in the film. We are willing to re-submit another version
this week so that the viewers get to watch the film in the theatres
there,” Bhatt told tabloid!.
Raaz 3 is a thriller about an insecure actress Shanaya (Bipasha Basu)
who resorts to black magic to thwart a younger actress Sanjana (Esha
Gupta). This is the second film starring Basu that has not released in
the UAE: in 2010, her Kashmiri militant-drama Lamhaa was pulled from
cinemas across the GCC hours before it was due to open. - KT
