Mangalore, Oct 1, 2012 : Two peersons died and seven others were seriously injured when their pickup vehicle fell off the bridge in NH 66, over the railwayline at Baikampady on Sunday night, September 30.
The deceased are driver Harish and worker Ramesh. The pickup truck, which belongs to MRPL, was taking workers to Haleangady from a construction site in Angaragundi. The 11 workers travelled in the pickup truck are from Sirsi. The injured are admitted in AJ Hospital.
The owner of the pickup told reporters that the workers were not on duty as it was Sunday and that only the driver and one of the workers were from the MRPL.
The driver lost control over the pickup truck and dashed into the Bridge over the railwayline at Baikampady, rolled over and fell onto the railway tracks. - MT
