No vulgar dresses and mobile phones, says a college in UP

Udai Pratap College in Varanasi has imposed a ban on indecent outfits and mobile phones in the classrooms. The teachers also come under the ambit of diktat.

The students can bring the mobile phone but will have to deposit them in the library, they are not allowed to bring the mobile phone in the classrooms. They are also supposed to wear decent attire. The jeans are not totally banned but should not be skintight or stylish.

The directives have been issued in the backdrop of misuse of mobile phones and rise in crimes against women due to vulgar dressing on part of teenage girls. The move is taken as a preventive measure.

Though the college claims a noble intention behind the decision but it faces severe criticism by some students who feel that the college administration is punishing innocent students also, for the wrong doing of some goons who are involved in unethical activities.
